If you plan on buying 50 Cent’s new album, go get the CD because it comes with a free DVD “2 Turntables and a Mic: The Life and Death of Jam Master Jay”. Executive Produced by Lemel Humes, the film covers everything from the early Run-DMC days, to the aftermath of his tragic murder, and everything in between.
Let’s not forget the look that set Run-DMC apart. That hardcore B-Boy, street style. That was all Jam Master Jay. He gave Run-DMC that street cred and this is well covered in the film as well.
Bottom line is, this is a fucked up, depressing story, but the amount of untold history in here, as well as the positive effect he had on not just my, but every B-Boy, B-Girl, and Hip-Hop DJ’s life, makes this a very enjoyable watch.
This is a must cop for any self respecting fan of Hip-Hop.
